We carefully weighed all of the motivating factors that influence your decision-making when choosing a reef aquarium light with the all-new AquaMaxx Prism.

We took everything hobbyists loved about our first aquarium light fixture, the AquaMaxx NemoLight—the sleek and slim design, easy customization and control, and unbeatable price—and improved upon them.

THE LIGHT

The Prism is remarkably thinner than the NemoLight, measuring a mere 0.43” thick! Like its predecessor, the Prism has a smart aluminum unibody design that is passively cooled so no loud cooling fans are required. The Prism is more powerful—24 Watts compared to the NemoLight’s 18 Watts. We’ve added more color temperatures, too, increasing the number of different colored diodes from 4 to 7. We also added a third controllable color channel, making it easier than ever to dial in that 10K white, 14K white/blue, 20K heavy blue, or custom look of your choice.

THE CONTROLLER

Perhaps the Prism’s biggest advancement is its controller. No longer built into the fixture itself, the Prism has a small external controller with 2 buttons and a digital display that shows the current time, light intensity, storm mode, and ambient air temperature. There is no need to buy an additional controller to use all the features this fixture has to offer!

With 4 set points—sunrise, midday, sunset, and night—of customizable light intensity, you’ll be able to gradually ramp intensity up or down between points to simulate the look of a natural sunrise, sunset, and even moon light.

Thunderstorm mode has also been enhanced. You can now control when storms occur in a 24 hour period, how many storms will occur during that time and how frequently the storms appear.

THE TANK MOUNT

There is no need to purchase an expensive sold separate tank mount to put the Prism over your aquarium. The included mounting brackets are slim, adjustable, and easy to install. It is similar in style to the tank mount for the NemoLight, only we’ve removed one of the legs to give you more of an unobstructed view of your reef without sacrificing the stability of the fixture. The mounting brackets lock to stay safely in place on the rim of your tank.
